What We Believe
Our beliefs are rooted in the Bible and summarized below from Forest Park Bible Church’s formal Statement of Doctrine.
The Bible
We believe the entire Bible in its original writings is verbally inspired of God and is of plenary authority.
The Godhead
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man.
Salvation by Grace
We believe God justifies ungodly sinners by His grace, through faith in the blood of Christ. Salvation is God's free gift apart from human works.
Eternal Security
We believe all who are saved are eternally secure in Christ.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a Person who convicts, regenerates, baptizes, seals, indwells, enlightens, and empowers the saved.
The Church
We believe the Church in the present dispensation is the Body of Christ, composed of all who are saved.
The Lord's Supper
We observe the Lord's Supper as revealed through the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 11:23–26, “until He comes.”
Baptism
We believe every saved person has been made a member of the Body of Christ by one divine baptism and that water baptism is not part of God's spiritual program for the Body of Christ in this day of grace.
Resurrection & Christ's Return
We believe Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead and that His return will be personal and premillennial.
Our Mission
We seek to follow the Apostle Paul and the revelation of truth given through him for the present Dispensation of the Grace of God, proclaiming the gospel and carrying it to others.
